Snow removal to close some roads in Halifax, Dartmouth Friday

Rolling street closures will be in effect on certain roads in Halifax and Dartmouth Friday. The city is advising residents that in the next 24-36 hours, select streets will be closed to allowed crews to widen streets.

In Halifax;

•Inglis Street (Beaufort to Robie) – both sides
•South Street
•Isleville Street
•Robie Street (Memorial to Young)
•Windsor Street

In Dartmouth;

•Burnside Industrial Park
•Highfield Park Drive
•Portland Street
•Victoria Road
•Windmill Road

Residents are advised to avoid parking in these locations when signage is present to indicate of impending work or temporary no parking restrictions. Under Section 139 of the Motor Vehicle Act, vehicles can be ticketed and towed any time of the day or night if they are obstructing snow clearing.

The city is still cleaning up after over 70cm of snow fell between a blizzard Monday, and a storm Thursday. Officials say it could take up to two weeks before all sidewalks are cleared.
